Three Mystery Links

Grade 5s,

As you know, we have been working with the mystery genre in out literacy block. For this weeks home connections I would like you to visit three different links.

We have started reading a book by Eric Wilson as a class. Please visit and explore his website. Come to class with the name of an Eric Wilson book that interests you. Be able to tell the class the title and a short synopsis. We may just read your choice next!

Find Eric Wilson's website here!

Next, visit Great Unsolved Mysteries in Canadian History. On the right hand side of the screen you will see a link titled "Quick Access", click "Choose your Mystery" and find the mystery titled, "Who discovered Klondike Gold". Once there, explore through the pages titled: Home, Context, Contenders, Aftermath, Interpretations, and Archives.

You can find the website here!

Finally, let's have some fun. Play a few rounds of Mystery Case Files Huntsville Game

Home Connections Week 1:

Students and Parents,

This week I would like you to visit Ask for Kids: http://www.askkids.com/. It is a kid safe Internet search engine. Please explore the search engine and search for something that interests you. It may be your favourite T.V. show, musical artist, movie, animal etc. Come prepared to share the information you found with the class!

For example, my favourite book series is Harry Potter. I decided to type Harry Potter in the search bar. I found a parseltongue translator! Check it out: http://parseltonguetranslator.warnerbros.com/

Happy searching!
